Coffee lovers

Nothing relaxes me more than going to a café and spend the entire evening there. I'm deeply in love with the smell of the freshly brewed coffee and the cozy atmosphere that only a coffee shop can give you.

Nada me relaja más que ir a un café y pasar el resto de la tarde ahí. Estoy profundamente enamorada del olor del café recién hecho y del ambiente acogedor que sólo un café te puede dar.

Two cappuccinos, please.
I don't mind to go by myself, but it's always better to go in the company of someone, whether it's your significant other or just a few friends. I believe that all the coffee lovers can relate to this. Sharing the same hobbies and tastes is the most comforting thing in the world.

This is my very first post in two different languages!/¡Este es mi primer post en dos idiomas diferentes!

Spaghetti in Pesto Sauce

When I was in Taiwan, I really fell in love with this vegan restaurant called Loving Hut. To my surprise, I found this franchise in Mexico, too! Wow. I was impressed. The place was super cute and casual, they also have buffet that includes tea after your meal. I highly recommend this place if you are in your journey of becoming a vegetarian or vegan. The food isn't expensive and very delicious indeed. There aren't many vegetarian restaurants in Mexico so it's very hard for me and my family to find a suitable place to eat. However, we always manage ourselves to order things without meat.

I'm a vegetarian since birth because most of my relatives are, including my parents. So, this is my advice for you: If you are interested in vegetarianism or you're trying to be or just became one, don't let other people telling you what to eat or what to do. You have the rights to change your diet if you want, but just do it in the correct way. Don't pressure yourself and don't limit yourself either. There are many things you can eat and differents recipes you can try that are cruelty free and/or dairy free. If you are in this process, change your diet slowly so your organism can get used to it. And of course, try not to fall into temptation. I know it's hard at the beginning, but it'll get easier over time.

Just keep going and stay strong and firm.
“You can judge a man's true character by the way he treats his fellow animals.” ― Paul McCartney

I'll write about the benefits of being a vegetarian in one of my future posts. Stay tuned!

Art gallery

Yesterday, my family and I went on a road trip to a contemporary art gallery, which is 2 hours drive. The weather was amazing, as you can see in the first picture.

Big tree, big dream
Art inside a tunnel
Since we didn't know how to get to that gallery, we went on google maps and tried to find our way. However, it was a mess. We were all desperate and tired. We had to pull over several times to ask for directions. Anyways, after finding a place to park, we decided to walk and explore a little bit. The funny thing was that we ended up discovering another art gallery (a photography gallery to be more specific). And yes, don't worry. We could find that contemporary art gallery! Even though it wasn't how we expected, everything was pretty cool.

What I learnt about this, is that it doesn't matter how bad and dark your day seems to be, you will always see the light in the next sunrise. Never give up and always carry on, and I know I've said this before, but don't let anything let you down.

Have a nice day!

The future awaits

Three more weeks of vacation before uni starts...

Oreo ice-cream

Speaking of university, my friend and I have been talking about our future after graduated. There are so many things that we want to do!  We've been talking about it for so long, but we've learnt not to overthink everything because we're too young to worry!

Crop top, boyfriend shorts and high-heel sandals
Last year, I was very anxious and nervous about my future. "What am I going to do? Who am I going to be? Where am I going to work?" Those questions always popped out at night when I was trying to sleep... However, I've changed my perspectives. I expected too much about it and after I understood that the future will come naturally depending on your personality, lifestyle and destiny, I have no reason to be worried anymore.

I'm really bad at photo shoots...

So, if you think the way I used to think, then change it. Don't worry too much because that causes stress and anxiety and of course, it will damage your health. Let everything flow naturally. But the most important thing is that you need to start acting! That's the only way to achieve your goals in life. My conclusion is, keep yourself calm and never stop working hard.

P.s. Remember to smile everyday!

Today is Sunday and a very humid day. I tried to wear comfortable clothes so I went for an oversized white shirt and knot it up to make some figure, my pair of light wash high waisted ripped knee jeans and some comfy high-heel sandals.

Misoshiru soup and orange juice
My Junior-High friends and I went to eat some Japanese food at a restaurant called Domu, which wasn't the best place. The food wasn't that good and the decoration was ok.

Anyway, I haven't seen my friends since last year I believe, so I was very excited to see them again. It's amazing how time flies so fast and how we've chosen different paths. However, though we have changed, we are more mature and have jobs and responsabilities, we haven't change the way we treat each other. And I'm so glad we could keep our friendship up to now.

I've learnt the meaning of "Friendship" thanks to my own experiences . Before stablishing the meaning of friendship in my mental dictionary, I used to think that, the more friends you have, the more important you are. But that's not true at all! You can just count your true friends with one hand, and that's what reality is. If you see that some of your "friends" don't want to be your friends anymore... Let them go! Some people come into our lives and quickly go, and some come into our lives to stay. So, don't worry too much. Time will tell if they're your true friends or not, someday, somehow.

Many people might hurt you sooner or later, take advantage of that and learn from that. People make mistakes and so do you, so learn from those bad relationships and keep growing. Keep smiling and be kind and positive. In the end, you'll be surrounded by true friends without you noticing it.

Start over

Today, I went with my friend Samantha to a café, ironically called Café-Café. It was a cloudy but very humid day, so we didn't stop sweating. We went to have a chit-chat with our friends (Stefany, who is currently working at Disneyland, Lupita and Fernando) on Skype, since we haven't talked all together in our vacation. It was fun and funny as well, even though the wi-fi connection of that place was a little bit sucky. On the other hand, their coffee and pink lemonade were delicious.

Pink lemonade and latte

When I first went to this café, it wasn't that pretty. I believe that they have decorated the place in these years, and they did an excellent job. It's a very pleasant place to be with friends and family, or just to relax by yourself.

It's such a blessing to be surrounded by amazing friends. I really enjoy talking with them because they're the kind of friends that you don't just have fun with but also talk about interesting things, such as life, the environment, the future, always giving our points of view and giving advice. And that's why I want to share what we talked about today...

I believe that many of you have experienced a bad relationship with people, it might be friends, a significant other, etc. That's completely normal. However, you can't let that bring you down. You are surrounded by people that are like you, believe it or not. You might think that they're different than you but they're actually very similar. Why does this happen?

We all emanate energy which can be positive or negative, it all depends on how you are. For example, if you are a person with bad habits, you'll attract people with bad habits. That's why I said that we attract people that are similar to us, even though we never notice that. So, if you are unsatisfied with the relationships that you currently have with other people, you might start thinking of changing yourself. For example, if you are someone who gets angry very easily, start reflecting before you speak and calm down whenever you feel like you're about to explode. That will be a good start. It might be very difficult, but don't let obstacles stop you! Your bad habits and negative things are like these light bulbs. Now, they're off because of that negativity of yours, but when you start changing, those light bulbs will turn on, one by one, little by little. And eventually, you'll be a better person and your life will be full of light. So, I encourage you all to START NOW! Life is too good to be surrounded by negativity.

Be grateful

Who doesn't love boba tea/milk tea? If you didn't know, Boba Tea is originaly from Taiwan, which is where I'm from but I'm currently living in Mexico. So, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Hsiao, it's pronounced as it's written, but you can pronounce it as you like, I don't really mind. I'm 21 years old, almost 22. I'm studying languages and I speak Chinese Mandarin fluently, Spanish fluently, Taiwanese, English, German, French, and I also learnt Japanese and Russian but the last two I barely remember something. I really like fashion but I don't support animal abuse because I'm a vegetarian. I like writing things and singing when I'm sad or stressed, that's how I release all those bad feelings that are stucked in my brain.
I hope that after giving that information, you could get to know me a little bit more. And without further ado, let's start with the main subject.

As you can see (as said in the beginning) I love bubble tea, soy milk bubble tea to be more specific. When I first came to Mexico, there wasn't any place where sold boba tea and I almost forgot the taste of it. However, when the first boba tea shop opened,  I was really excited. Even though I didn't expect too much on their products, when I took the first sip, my mind just blown away! It felt like if my childhood came back to me again.

You'll see, I've been away from my hometown since I was very little and sometimes, not that often, I go back to see my grandparents and family that still living in Taiwan. Though I've been living in Mexico for many years and I speak fluent Spanish and I grew up with its culture and holidays, I still feel that this is not my home. I have to say that I really love Mexico, its food and diverse culture are amazing and rich. However, wherever I go, there'll always be someone pointing at me and looking at me as if they've never seen asian people before. I know that's their curiosity but that has been bothering me since I remember. If you have experience that, I'm sure you can relate.

Nevertheless, thanks to that experiences, I've learnt to be positive and strong. I've also learnt that you have to see the bright side of any negative situation because they will teach you many things and will make you grow mentally and sentimentally. Life's a rollercoaster, it may have its ups and downs, but whenever you are in your worst moments of your life, never surrender and always look forward. That's the key to happiness and that's what I've learnt through my experiences. I'm grateful for all the people who have been with me through thick and thin and they have taught me how to be the person I am today. So, stick with the people who are positive and the people with an open mind. And remember, always see the bright side of life.

Please comment if you can relate to my experience, I would really like to read them!

Part of me

So, this is the front yard. And the reason why I post this stupid picture of me is because I want to talk about HOME. You'll see, every time I want to take a picture of myself/outfit/selfie, I go to the front yard of my house (parents' house). And that makes me realize how important home is. What am I trying to say? I know there are so many places you would like to go, or so many amazing places that you have been. Nevertheless, the only place you can find yourself is at home and by home I mean where your parents are. It might sound really cheesy but, if you think about it of a second... Where do you go when you don't have money to pay your rent? Where do you go when you feel like nobody loves you and everything turns blue? Where do you go when you need support? To your parents. So, it doesn't matter how old you are and where you are, whenever you feel sad, just GO BACK HOME. And I guarantee that you will be very welcome.

Step by step

Are you pursuing your own dreams? What I want is to be able to do things by myself and to feel proud of my own achievements. It doesn't matter what I do but how I do it. Maybe I'm doing something I don't like or something that I think I'm not good at. However, if you put all your heart into everything you do, then you won't find that job or activity that unpleasant. And little by little, you'll be happy with yourself and with everything you do because of your perseverance and hard work. Remember, nothing is achieved overnight so be sure to be patient. We all want happiness and you will achieve it by being positive.

Happy thoughts

When you're sad, just imagine that all that sadness are little bubbles floating in front of you. Then, start popping them one by one. In the end, you'll feel much better as your bad feelings are gone, just like those bubbles.
P.s.Be Happy!

It's said that nothing and nobody is perfect. So... why do we keep on trying to be perfect if there's no way to achieve it? You must've heard about this quote: "it's not what's on the outside, it's what's on the inside that matters". Why can't we listen to that quote and that's it? We all try to find perfection in our daily life. I'm a virgo and I know what I'm talking about. Everything has to be perfect: Your hair, your clothes, your skin, your work... everything. However, we never stop and think about the nature, our body systems. Everything inside our body is just perfectly coordinated just like the gears of a clock. How could we live without them? And the nature, the most beautiful, deep, amazing system. How could we still alive without it? How could we breath without the air? How could we survive without water? We all try to find that "perfection" in everything but what we haven't realized is that, we already have it. The world is perfect and our bodies are perfect. The thing here is to know how to preserve and care about them. "You don't know what you have until you lose it"... We don't want to lose it, am I right? Take care of our environment, take care of yourself and others. And it doesn't matter who they are, what they are and where they are... We are all living in the same planet and it has given us everything we needed so the least we can do is to take care of what's inside it: People, animals, plants, things.

It feels like summer

It's summer already. The weather is hot and humid. What do you wear in days like these? People will always judge you by how you look and what you wear. In my opinion, you should not listen to anyone but yourself. What do you like? Is that really how you want to look like? Do you feel comfortable with what you are wearing? Wear whatever you want as long as you feel like "yourself". Everybody will judge, and I know that it sounds like a cliché but, believe me, you will be judged no matter what you do... So BE YOU. The most important thing is to feel confident about yourself. That's how I see it.
